Liner Installation Process

Your pool will be measured by us so your new liner will be custom made specifically to fit your pool. In most cases the pool can be measured while it is full of water, so you can enjoy your pool while waiting for your liner to be manufactured.

Once the liner arrives we will come pump out your pool, remove and take away your old liner, and install your new liner all in the same day (assuming there are no issues hiding under the old liner). New faceplates and gaskets for your skimmers, returns and lights are included and installed. Liner lock will also be installed in the coping track to help prevent the liner bead from coming out at any point in the future.

Special vacuums are used to suck out the air behind the new liner to keep it in place until the pool is filled to a certain point with water (approximately 1-2 feet of water in the shallow end), which we will mark for you. To fill the pool, water from your garden hose can be used or if you prefer, water trucks can be arranged beforehand at an additional cost.

Your new liner will be made by GLI Pool Products, Latham, or Findlay Vinyl depending on which pattern is chosen.

Keep in mind installing a liner is very weather dependent. It is best to install liners on hot, sunny days where it’s easier to clean the pool surface. The heat also helps the liner stretch and form into its proper place. Bad weather can delay the installation of your new liner.

If there are any problems with your pool or the area surrounding it you will want to address them before your new liner is installed. Things like replacing skimmers/returns/lights, installing a new coping track or even the coping stone around your pool are much harder, or sometimes can’t be done, with a liner installed. When we measure your pool we will do a visual inspection to see if any repairs are needed. If you have noticed any issues yourself, please let us know and we can help you address them.
